After making a name in theatre, he slowly transitioned to film and television in the 1960s. What made him a household name was his range. Among his most loved projects is the sitcom Unstoppable High Kick! He also went on to do critically acclaimed films like Late Blossom and Good Morning President. He also starred in dramas like Lee San, Dear My Friends, The Red Sleeve and Heo Jun. Veteran actor Lee Soon Jae passed away today at the age 91. The legendary artist also set to appear on stage in 2024 with the production of Waiting for Godot. However, his health concerns forced him to step back from the project. His accomplishments were consistently acknowledged, most notably when he became the oldest recipient of the highest honor at the 2024 KBS Acting Awards. He continued to inspire admiration throughout the business even after abandoning a stage production and stopping work on the drama Dog Talk owing to deteriorating health. His passing prompted a flurry of tributes from across the country. He was recognised as a great star of South Korea’s cultural and artistic community by the South Korean President Lee Jae-myung.
